My specialities

  • I help people look at how their worry and catastrophic thinking causes the fight, flight, freeze or fawn response. Together we’ll come up with strategies to help you to cope with that fearful fantasy in your head.

  • This is an invisible condition with devastating effects, as it robs us of our happiness and vitality. Throughout the years you have probably learned to suck it up and look like you are doing fine, when you’re not. I can help with pain management strategies to reduce the negative consequences of your pain.

  • I have had a debilitating concussion that had me off work for 21 months. The injury was like no other I’ve ever experienced, as the healing process was very slow, convoluted and unpredictable. I can normalize the concussion experience and support you in your healing journey.

  • We will explore how what you are thinking and doing (or not thinking and not doing) is contributing to your low mood or depression. Depression can sometimes be a stop sign from the deeper part of ourselves signaling that we are off track in our life. Together we can get you back on track.

  • Emotions are essential, but sometimes they can get the best of us, overpowering and causing us to act (or not act) in unhelpful ways. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (often use with people with borderline personality disorder) teaches the important skills of how to regulate our emotions, have better relationships with ourselves and others and how to calm down in difficult situations.

  • Using symbolism, metaphor and reflection as a means of exploring your life’s journey.

  • Both my adult children identify as queer, so I have experience and additional professional development with the challenges of being queer in a small community.

  • These are those transitional areas, the uncomfortable in-between places where we have one foot in one phase of our life and another foot reaching for the next phase. It could be adolescence to young adult, young adult to adult-adult, mid-life, empty nester, elder, recently single, becoming unemployed, recently disabled, and the list goes on. Together we will find ways to navigate these new, turbulent waters.

  • Whether it is the intensity of sound, light, taste, feel, or touch, the world can be overwhelming for those with sensory sensitivities. I can be a safe, supportive, understanding guide to help you develop strategies to take the edge off your experience of the world.
